Geometry serves as a student's introduction to the world of mathematical proofs. In geometry, students must learn to demonstrate why something is true, instead of merely assert that it must be so. But many students stumble at the thought of producing a proof; indeed, most students approach geometry with fear and trepidation precisely because they have never been challenged in this way before.
Likewise, many parents feel helpless as they watch their students struggle to get a grasp of geometry, remembering their own struggles in the subject.
